Picture of me

Hello

Avelino Sanchez is an Army veteran who served during the Persian Gulf War and in Somalia, and later continued his career supporting the Air Force as a civilian professional. Years of discipline, structure, and real-world experience shaped the man.

Grunge shaped the voice.

As a bassist in an alternative rock band and now a creator and producer of grunge music, Avelino writes from lived experience — not theory. His music carries grit, tension, resilience, and reflection. It’s not polished for perfection. It’s built from truth.

Every track is a chapter. Every riff has weight.

This is grunge with a backbone.

My Story

Before the music, there was service.

I served in the United States Army during the Persian Gulf War and in Somalia. Those years weren’t theory. They weren’t headlines. They were lived experiences that demanded discipline, resilience, and clarity under pressure. You learn quickly in those environments what matters — and what doesn’t.

After my time in uniform, I continued serving as a civilian professional supporting the Air Force. Structure, responsibility, and mission-focused work defined my career. Precision mattered. Reliability mattered. The stakes were real.

But underneath that structure, there was always sound.

Music wasn’t an escape. It was a release valve. A way to process what doesn’t always translate into conversation.

I played bass in an alternative rock band — not chasing the spotlight, but holding the foundation. The bass taught me something about presence. You don’t have to be loud to be powerful. You anchor the rhythm. You drive the movement. You hold everything together.

Grunge found me because it didn’t pretend.

Grunge doesn’t polish the edges. It doesn’t sanitize emotion. It leaves the tension in the chords and the weight in the lyrics. That honesty resonated with a life shaped by service, responsibility, and real-world experience.

Now I create and produce grunge music that reflects my life — the discipline, the internal battles, the resilience, the growth, and the perspective that only time can give you. I build my sound the same way I’ve lived: grounded, intentional, and real.
